During July, Rep Com International teamed up with Viavi Solutions for a tour through Washington and Oregon, bringing Viavi’s mobile testing lab directly to customers across the Pacific Northwest.
Over the course of the tour, the Viavi Van made more than 10 stops with service providers, contractors, and distributors. While many of the communities were small, the conversations focused on a big challenge shared across the industry: how to better test, inspect, and protect today’s fiber networks.
The Viavi Van is designed to bring hands-on product demonstrations and training directly to customers. Equipped with a wide range of fiber, wireless, metro/Ethernet, and cable/access test instruments, it gives customers an opportunity to see the technology in action and work directly with Viavi product experts.
Hands-On Training in the Field
One standout visit was with a Pacific Northwest service provider, where the Viavi team provided training on existing Optimeter equipment and Stratasync while also introducing several newer solutions.
The session included demonstrations of the INX 700 probes, Fiber Identifiers, and Visual Fault Locators, giving the customer an opportunity to learn more about the tools and how they can be used in the field.
SmartOTDRs, Optimeters, INX 700 probes, Fiber Identifiers, and VFLs were among the products that generated the most interest throughout the tour.
For customers, having this technology arrive directly at their location provides more than a product demonstration. It creates an opportunity to get hands-on training, ask questions about real-world applications, and learn how to get the most from the equipment they already have.
Support That Goes Beyond the Equipment
For Rep Com, the tour highlighted something that goes beyond the technology itself: the level of support and training Viavi provides to its customers.
Viavi stands behind its products and focuses on helping end users protect and inspect their networks. Bringing product experts directly into the field allows customers to receive hands-on training and support where they need it most.
For RCI, that’s an important part of what makes the manufacturer-rep relationship valuable. We don’t just connect customers with products—we connect them with the expertise and support behind those products.
The July tour through Washington and Oregon was another example of that commitment in action: bringing the technology, training, and people directly to the customers who rely on their fiber networks every day.
